Moving Elements and Draft Models-Lumion

Here is a short video capturing a draft of my bridge concept. I chose to make people my moving element, and in doing so, I was able to show the way people would walk across my bridge.

These four images show two possible drafts for my bridge, inspired by my sketches.

EXP 3- Two Point Perspective Sketches

Balance: The three intersecting prisms seem to have an asymmetrical balance.

Floating: The bridge hovers over over the pathway below.
Exuberant: This bridge, rather than being a straight path, has pieces that split off, allowing the space to function as a meeting area, almost like a miniature plaza. This gives off a playful atmosphere.

Imposing: The shape seems somewhat hostile and intimidating.
Intimate: The 'bridge' space between the two flanking rectangular prisms is cut off from the world, alluding to a sense of privacy.

Revere: Through its large, rectangular/cubic shape, the shape acts almost like a pedestal for those below to look up at.

EXP 3- The Concept

Upon reading Catherine Foster's book 'Small House Living Australia,' I was surprised to learn of many projects having been undertaken locally, to increase sustainability and affordability for housing in Australia. I thought that many of the key concepts used for the aforementioned projects could be applied to this assignment, as well as architectural practice in general.

From here, I picked out some key terminologies, and developed my own concept that I want to follow for my architectural school/bridge.

"The most harmonious spaces diversify how form and function interplay."

For me, this means that for a space to work well, it should have both form and function. However, if these can be adapted to work with each other, than the space can transcend being just a floor and four walls. In particular, both form and function should focus on the principles of sustainability.

EXP3 Week 1- Perspective Drawing

This week we looked at drawing shapes in one point perspective. I shaded my drawings using black, blue and red pen as shown in the first image, but I have scanned them in greyscale, as it shows the shading in a more elegant form.
